and san francisco have fewer than 50 power outages to report at this hour. you can go to ktvu.com our channel 2 website and our mobile apps you will get the latest on the weather at any time anywhere. >>> one local neighborhood is on high alert and the suspects are still on the loose after a deadly home invasion friday. ktvu janine de la vega has a look at the sketch police hope will lead them to an arrest. janine. >> reporter: pam, th morning police are combing through evidence they found in this mansion. they will not tell us how the homeowner was killed but they did release a sketch of the suspect. he is described as white or latino between 23-24 years old. he's around six feet tall and described as being skinny with black hair and dark eyes. this man and several others broke into this home early friday morning. when officers arrived, they found the house was ransacked and the body of 66koomra. his wife was beaten but did not have any serious injuries. he is the former owner of the historic winery. it's unknown if this couple was targeted or if this was a random home invasion robbe
of a traffic stop accident in san francisco, it smashed a fire hydrant and -- and shut down essex street. you can see this is near the on ramp to the bay bridge happening right now. it shut down because water from a busted fire hydrants damage -- hydrant damaged scaffolding. a -- police were trying to pull over a man for being suspected of driving under the influence. that intersection will be closed until all of the damage particularly to that scaffolding is deemed safe. >>> in the meantime, a hit-and- run driver in the south bay, the victim of that incident has died from his injuries. jeanine della vega is at the intersection where all of this happened. gored morning jeanine -- good morning, jeanine. >> reporter: this is where the accident happened. this gas station here, fast food and a wall greens, there are lots of things here and police were here until 1:00 a.m. investigating. what we know is a man was crossing the intersection at 5:45 when police say he was hit by a dark banner suv. that vehicle stopped kept traveling southbound and the man was rushed to the hospital where he died late

in the border of those neighborhoods in san francisco. a resident in the area spotted the couple and called police last night. both victims suffered trauma and police were not able to tell us whether they had been shot beaten or stabbed. we know where the couple was found and investigators are trying to figure out where the crime occurred. >> we are reaching out to the neighborhood and to the community to see if anybody has any information about where the investigation was to find out what happened. >> san francisco police are canvassing the neighborhood and one thing they are trying to find out, where were they injured or were they drafted off after they were assaulted. police are wondering if they have surveillance video and if they have seen anything unusual tip 411. they are waiting for the woman to improve and hopefully once she starts to improve they will be able to talk to her and get more from the investigation that way. allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2 morning news. >> your time now 6:03, sentencing for the woman convicted of killing michelle le. giselle esteban was convicted of first-
. and police are investigating after woman gave birth on a san francisco street and she was out begging for help. here is the latest on that woman and where was she going when she was trying to get help, claudine? >> reporter: we are still trying to get information on the woman and the condition of her baby and we are told supervisor will be willing to talk with us shortly so we are standing by for that. i want to show you video of the scene because this is where it all happened. we shot this video earlier this morning and what you are looking at is a 24 hour shelter. they don't have walk inns but the woman went up to the gate of that shelter bleeding and asking for help. a man who works there didn't want to go on camera but took us through what happened. >> she was crying, just looked like she was just beaten up covered in blood. she said she just had a baby and i didn't see a baby in her hand. i go for help and come back and she is walking off and that's when i called the police. >> reporter: he said he was not sure what to do and he went to go ask a co-worker what to do next and she
morning news. >>> time now 6:02 overnight in san francisco, a bicyclist was seriously hurt after being hit by a between a street traffic. his injuries are considered not life-threatening. >>> her body was found where san fernando crosses over the quat -- good loop -- yacht loop river. >> reporter: somebody passing by here looked under the bridge and spot add woman down on the ground here among the dirt and trees. police received several 911 calls that a woman was spotted. there are no obvious signs of trauma and they will continue to trees this case. police know transients are known to frequent the area and the coroner said the woman appears to have been homeless but they don't know for sure. they say she was wearing a black checkered shirt and they are having a problem locating her. >>> students were finally allowed to leave their dorms and classrooms and they had been inside while police searched for two men believed to be on campus. the suspects by the way were not found. the police chase spanned 3 counties. they part of a plan and this is in southern california, three of them were caug

:05. sentencing today for a san francisco school cafeteria worker convicted of several sexual assaults. he was convicted of attacking three women in the mission district last year. one of them was beaten unconscious. he could get life in prison. the fifth suspect charged in an attack that left one man dead and a woman badly beaten is set to face a judge today. they were found bound and bagged in the middle of the street. the victims and the suspects knew each other. the final suspect is facing charges of accessory to murder and conspiracy to destroy evidence. >>> new this morning there is more fallout from the royal phone hoax. about a dozen workers at the australian radio station behind the prank call had been moved to safe houses. ten radio executives now have around the clock bodyguards because of death threats. meanwhile british investigators are disclosing more information about three suicide notes left by the nurse. two were found in the room while the other was among her personal possessions. one note dealt with the phone call. another focused on her funeral. the third criticized ho
